The Gas IRC Skills Forecast focuses on the prioritisation of the skills needs of the industry. Skills Forecasts are developed and reviewed annually and submitted on behalf of the IRC to the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) for approval.

Gas Industry Reference Committee (IRC)

The Gas IRC is made up of industry leaders and experts and acts as a conduit between the Gas industry and the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC).

 

The Gas Supply, Transmission, Distribution and Gaseous Fuels (hereafter Gas Supply) industry provides vital services to Australian homes and businesses across its four subsectors; LPG bottling and storage, retailers that buy and sell gas, transmission operators that transport gas from production facilities to the entry point of the distribution network, and distributors that operate the networks that carry gas to the end user.

 

The Gas IRC are responsible for ensuring the UEG Gas Industry Training Package meets the needs of the industry and provides Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualification for occupations involved in the manufacture and distribution of town gas through a system of mains and pipelines.

 Lindsay Eisemann

Gas Industry Reference Committee Chair

Lindsay Eismann is the Senior LPG Training and Competency Business Partner at Origin Energy with responsibility for the LPG business across Australia and Pacific.

 

Lindsay supports the retail team in Health Safety and Environment (HSE) training and competency, to ensure that the business has access to fit-for-purpose, timely and cost-effective training solutions. He manages and engages with stakeholders to ensure training needs-analysis, competency frameworks and training plans, are all developed in line with the business context. Lindsay also works collaboratively with Origin-wide Training and Competency teams to design and develop standardised training governance policies and procedures.

 

Lindsay is passionate about the VET system because of the opportunities it provides, particularly at a time rapid change, when adaptability and lifelong learning are key.
