The industry supplies and transports high voltage electricity from generators to distribution networks and directly to domestic and industrial users. The Transmission industry alone accounts for nearly $3 billion in revenue and employs more than 4,500 people. The Distribution industry is significantly bigger, generating $19.57 billion in revenue and employed over 31,800 people in 2018.

 

Australia’s ESI-TDR industry is amid major transformations with new technological developments, such as advancements in Artificial Intelligence and automation, which are providing the workforce with a variety of unique and new opportunities.  The industry as a whole is also rapidly changing the traditional methods of electricity provision to consumers.
